US Air Force refuels Saudi planes on Yemen air strikes
Pentagon spokesman Army Col. Steve Warren told DefenseNews that the US Air Force has begun an aerial refueling mission for the Saudi Arabian-led mission engaged in air strikes on Shiite Houthi rebels in Yemen. A US KC-135 Stratotanker flew its first mission Wednesday, refueling a Saudi-owned F-15 Eagle and an UAE F-16 Fighting Falcon. Warren said that while the US Central Command aims to fly one tanker mission a day in support of the Saudi-led alliance, it would not enter Yemeni airspace.
