US aircraft and drones struck IS vehicles near Irbil

The Pentagon reported two aircraft and drone strikes on Al Qaeda IS vehicles in an action to protect the Iraqi Kurdish capital of Irbil. Since Aug. 8, the US has carried out 133 air strikes on IS targets in northern Iraq. DEBKAfile: America’s air campaign is relatively low-intensity and therefore has little impact on IS.
