US airstrike killed terror mastermind al-Adnani; ISIS vows revenge

Islamic State's main spokesman Abu Muhammad al-Adnani was killed Tuesday by a missile fired by a US military drone, a senior American official was quoted as saying. The missile was said to have hit the vehicle in which al-Adnani was traveling in the city of Al-Bab near Aleppo in northern Syria. The spokesman, who was considered likely to succeed the head of the terrorist organization, was responsible for Islamic State's overseas activities including its attacks in Europe. ISIS has threatened large-scale revenge attacks against the West in the aftermath of the senior terrorist's death.
