Two Iraqi workers were injured in a rocket attack early Wednesday on the compound outside Iraq’s southern port of Basra where US giant ExxonMobil and other foreign oil firms are housed. A local security official confirmed Exxon evacuated some 20 foreign staff immediately. Other companies using the site include Royal Dutch Shell PLC and Italian Eni SpA. The rocket hit the Burjesia residential and operations headquarters west of Basra. There was no claim of responsibility – any more than there was for the previous attacks on Gulf oil tankers.
