US authorities intensify checks of air cargo from Turkey

The US Transportation Security Administration, citing "emerging threats", announced Thursday that it is intensifying its inspections of cargo sent on planes from Turkey. The TSA did not elaborate on the threats. However, American sources said they refer to attempts to smuggle explosives onto planes in commercial cargo.
