US B-2 stealth bombers strike ISIS targets in Libya
In possibly the last military operation ordered by outgoing American President Barack Obama, four B-2 stealth bombers attacked an ISIS camp in Libya. According to reports on Arab social networks, the attack on the camp about 45 kilometers southwest of the city of Sirte destroyed ammunition dumps and killed several dozen people. The bombers took off from a base in the US on Tuesday and were refueled and armed at a US base in southern Europe. DEBKAfile's intelligence and military sources report that Obama wanted a large-scale strike that would help him leave office on a high note, but despite pressure by him, the Pentagon only approved the attack on the targets in the Libyan desert, and the results were described as negligible.
