US carries out 20 attacks on Al Qaeda targets in Yemen; four terrorists killed
The US military carried out a series of attacks against the Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQIP) organization on Thursday. US spokesmen said the 20 strikes in the areas of Abyan, Al Bayda and Shabwah targeted weapons depots, command centers and heavy weapons such as missiles. They did not specify which US forces were involved but said the assault dealt a major blow to AQIP's ability to carry out terrorist attacks outside of Yemen.
Earlier, US sources said four Al Qaeda terrorists were killed in airstrikes by two American drones in the southern part of the country.
