US condemns, without rejecting, Sudan President’s visa request

A State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf said: “We condemn any potential effort by President Bashir to travel to New York, given that he stands accused of genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity by the International Criminal Court.” Bashir should first present himself at The Hague before presenting himself at UN HQ, she said, without specifying whether he would be arrested if he set foot on US soil
