US defense chief visits Iraq for 2nd time this week

American Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter arrived early Wednesday in Irbil, capital of the Kurdish autonomous region of Iraq, marking his second visit to the country during the last week. Carter received intelligence briefings and operational recommendations from the commanders of the US special forces responsible for secret missions into Syrian territory.
