US demands enhanced cargo screening by 6 Mid East carriers
The new “emergency amendment” announced by the US Transportation Security Administration Monday applies to six Mid East carriers: Egypt Air operating out of Cairo; Royal Jordanian, operating out of Queen Alia, Saudia from King Abdul-Aziz and King Khali; Qatar Airways from Doha and Emirates; and Etihad operating out of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The TSA said most of the extra screening and security requirements are already being voluntarily applied by airlines around the world.
