US demands enhanced cargo screening by 6 Mid East carriers

The new “emergency amendment” announced by the US Transportation Security Administration Monday applies to six Mid East carriers: Egypt Air operating out of Cairo; Royal Jordanian, operating out of Queen Alia, Saudia from King Abdul-Aziz and King Khali; Qatar Airways from Doha and Emirates; and Etihad operating out of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The TSA said most of the extra screening and security requirements are already being voluntarily applied by airlines around the world. Meanwhile, the US has banned the transport of all cargo coming from Cairo international, other than passenger luggage
