US infantry forces fight with Afghan troops to recapture Konduz

US special ground forces have joined Afghan government forces in the battle to recover the key northern town of Kunduz which was captured Monday by the Taliban. The fighting is concentrated mainly on the edge of the town, not far from the air field from which US Air Force planes are providing the Afghan forces with air cover and carrying out bombing raids against the Taliban.
