US is investigating reported air crash in Afghanistan

Taliban claimed to have brought down a US Army aircraft – ”with high-ranking CIA officers aboard” in Ghazni province of central Afghanistan on Monday. “Lots of officers have been killed,” said the Taliban spokesman. The US is investigating the claim. Footage was shown of a US air force E-11 Battlefield Airborne communications Node. Neither the claim nor the footage is verified, only multiple reports of a plane crash in that province which is largely controlled by Taliban.
The Afghan government initially said a passenger jet carrying more than 80 people had crashed but retracted the claim a few hours later.

While that was the dichotomy several years ago, Iran has on occasion given them goodies if they promise to smoke some Americans.
