US, Japan, South Korea launch joint military exercise

A joint exercise began Tuesday in the waters off the coast of South Korea and Japan with the participation of the Aegis destroyer Yulgok Yii of South Korea, the USS Stethem and USS Decatur Aegis destroyers from the US, and a JDS Kirishima destroyer from Japan. The drill was limited to detecting and tracking an incoming missile via radar in a computer-simulated scenario and did not include interception.
