US may give Ukraine “killer drones”

US media report that kamikaze drones may be included in the $800 million military aid package President Joe Biden announced on Wednesday for Ukraine. A White House fact sheet cited “100 Tactical Unmanned Aerial Systems,” apparently referring to Switchblade 300 or Switchblade 600. The former can pinpoint strikes on personnel and the latter aims to destroy tanks and armored vehicles. US media sources did not say which was under consideration or whether both were.

The package will also include 800 anti-aircraft systems, 9,000 anti-armor systems and 20 million rounds of ammunition.
