US Navy aircraft crashes off Japan coast. Eight rescued, 3 missing

The C-2 transport plan was travelling off the remote Japanese reef of Okinotori to a US aircraft carrier in the Philippine Sea Wednesday, when it crashed, apparently due to engine failure. Eight people have been rescued from the stricken aircraft, which was carrying 11 crew and passengers. Rescuers are searching for three missing people.
