US Nvidia buys Israel hi-tech Mellanox for $6.8bn

The California-based tech giant Nvidia has agreed to put up $6.8bn in cash for Mellanox Technologies, an Israeli company based in the northern town of Yokneam. Mellanox produces hardware for large data center services, including server centers used to power cloud computing.
