US objects to Russia delivering S-300 missiles to Iran

Iran’s plan to sign the contract for four advanced Russian surface-to-air S-300 missiles as soon as next week, has drawn objections from Washington, which points to a ban on arms shipments to Iran under international sanctions. When asked to characterize the capability of the air defense system, a US defense official told Fox News, “This is a very capable weapons system that can bring down US or Israeli jet aircraft.”
