US prosecution seeks death for Tree of Life Synagogue murderer

Robert Bowers, who shot dead 11 worshipers shouting “All Jews must die,” at the Pittsburgh Tree of Life synagogue in October, has pleaded not guilty to a 63-count indictment. US prosecutors will seek the death penalty for the deadliest attack ever perpetrated on Jewish Americans in the United States. Bowers targeted his victims with a semi-automatic rifle “to maximize the devastation, amplify the harm of his crimes and instill fear within the local, national and international Jewish communities,” prosecutors said in court papers. A date is awaited for his trial.
