US sells Saudis Seahawk helicopters to modernize their navy

The State Department has approved the sale of 10 MH-60R Seahawk helicopters to Saudi Arabia for $1.9 billion, the first step in a major multibillion-dollar modernization of the Saudi navy's eastern fleet. For years, the Saudi government had been asking for these multi-mission helicopters as well as radars, missiles and other equipment. The sale was finally approved, according to a notification to US lawmakers.
