US Seventh Fleet head due for dismissal over 4 collisions

The US Navy is expected to relieve Vice Adm. Joseph P. Aucoin of his duties as commander of the US Seventh fleet, the Navy’s largest, after the loss of 10 sailors in a collision between a destroyer and a merchant ship near Singapore. It was the fleet’s fourth collision since January. Admiral Aucoin was due to retire next month, but his departure has been advanced.
