US strike group wasn’t heading toward N. Korea last week
Last week, at the height of a crisis between Washington and Pyongyang, the American media reported that a US navy strike group led by the USS Carl Vinson was on its way to waters off North Korea. However, it turns out that the group was actually headed in the opposite direction, toward the Indian Ocean. The BBC, which was monitoring the movements of the force after US President Donald Trump said that an "armada" was en route to the Korean Peninsula, was surprised to discover that the group did not arrive there. It remains unclear whether a mistake by the US or a deception of North Korea was involved.
