US to raise bar on aviation security, tighter screening
US Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly said he “might” extend the laptop ban to the cabins of all international flights into and out of the United States, because terrorists are “obsessed” with bringing down passenger airliners in flight – especially if they are full of mostly Americans. He told Fox News Sunday: “We are going to raise the bar for aviation security much higher than it is now.” Kelly said also: “There’s new technologies not too far down the road,” adding he will likely extend tougher screening of carry-on luggage nationwide. Security was tightened across the United States for the memorial weekend.
