US transport security chief replaced over airport security flaws

Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson Monday announced changes in airport security screening after serious flaws were found in the system and the acting head of Transportation Security Administration Melvin Carraway was replaced. Among the changes are random covert testing, intensive training and equipment checks. Johnson acted after undercover agents were able to smuggle mock explosives and weapons through TSA checkpoints in 67 out of 70 attempts. One agent passed through screening with a fake bomb strapped to his back after being frisked.
