US warns Russia of dangerous situation in northeast Syria

The US Special Envoy for Syria Joel Rayburn on Tuesday voiced concern over what he said was the “continuing dangerous situation in northeast Syria.” He urged all sides to work to stabilize the situation after heavy artillery exchanges between Turkish and Syrian government forces. At least 6 Syrian soldiers were killed. Rayburn called not just on the Syrian regime but also the Russians to rein in Assad’s forces before a flareup that could further destabilize the country.

The Syrian army’s bid to regain the town of Kobani with heavy Russian artillery backing ran into resistance in the past 48 hours from the Turkestan Islamic Party and the jihadist Hayat Tahrir al Sham, backed by Turkish army artillery.

What is going on? Turkey is now land grabbing in Syria and trying to move the Syrian Kurds off their land with the help of ISIS and other terrorist proxies, while the Russians with Syrian and Kurd forces are opposing this invasion. Turkey has made a Blunder!

NATO has no obligation to support Turkey if the Turks do the invading and attacking. Erdogoon needs to understand that.
