Vehicle hits pedestrians in Times Square; at least 13 injured

According to initial reports, at least 13 people were injured when a vehicle jumped the curb and mowed down pedestrians in New York's Times Square shortly before noon on Thursday. A video showed what appears to be the driver being arrested by police. Pictures posted on social media showed the smoking car leaning against a barrier on the sidewalk. The police have closed off the area.
