Vladimir Putin will seek another term as president next year

Russia’s Vladimir Putin said Wednesday: “I will put forward my candidacy for the post of president of the Russian federation,” in next year’s election. He was speaking Wednesday to workers at a car factory at Nizhny Novgorod.
Putin has ruled Russian since 2000 either as president or as prime minister. Russian TV journalist Ksenia Sobchak has said she will run for election but opinion polls suggest Putin will win easily.
