Vote Friday on Kavanaugh nomination for US Supreme Court 

The US Senate Judiciary Committee heard nine hours of emotionally-charged theatrical testimony from Christine Blasey Ford, who accused Judge Brett Kavanaugh, President Trump’s nominee for the US Supreme Court, of sexual misconduct when they were in high school, and Kavanaugh’s furious and emphatic denial. He accused Democrats of using Ford’s uncorroborated allegations to destroy his name and his family’s life for political purposes, and delaying tactics to influence critical midterm elections next month. Ford’s testimony drew a flood of sympathy from women across America. The Committee’s Republican members insist on voting Friday to approve Kavanaugh’s appointment to the Supreme Court after months of hearings.
