White House: No FBI corroboration of Kavanaugh allegations
As US senators began reviewing the FBI’s findings on President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh, on Thursday, the White House said that the completed FBI probe showed no corroboration of the allegations brought by Dr. Christine Blasey Ford of a sexual assault by the nominee when both were at high school. The Democrats had demanded the probe take place before the Senate vote on the Kavanaugh nomination. Their leaders now say the investigation was “too limited and rushed,” and are planning a big anti-Kavanaugh demonstration in Washington to prevent the Republicans holding a full Senate confirmation vote they have scheduled for Saturday.
