Ya’alon: Corruption scandals erode popular trust in leaders

Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon warned Tuesday that corruption scandals undermine public trust in its leaders. Trust matters more [to a society] than tanks and warplanes, he said. Without trust, no one will stand up and fight. Turning to external threats, the minister added another warning: No one can survive in the Middle East without a big, heavy stick. He rated Iran as the most dangerous military threat hanging over Israel.
