Yaalon quits defense post and Parliament

Moshe Yaalon  announced Friday he was leaving his post as defense minister and resigning his Knesset  seat as member of Likud. This follows the prime minister’s offer of defense to Avigdor Lieberman, leader of ‘Israel Beitenu’ for a coalition deal.
I notified the prime minister this morning that in the wake of his behavior during the latest developments, and in light of my lack of faith in him, I am resigning from the government and the Knesset and taking a break from political life,” Ya’alon said in a statement
