Yemeni army recaptures port city of Mukalla from Al Qaeda
Units of Yemen's army loyal to the country's president, backed by Saudi-led Arab coalition forces, completed their capture of the southern port city of Mukalla early Monday morning. The city about 300 kilometers east of the port of Aden had been held by fighters from Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP). The Yemeni army also succeeded in taking control of the Mina al-Dhaba oil field north of the city of Ash Shih, located east of Mukalla, and the international airport next to the city.
