Yemeni rebel Scud shot down by Saudi air base Patriots
Saudi Arabia shot down a Scud missile fired at its largest air base at Khamis al-Mushait in the south west, the first missile the Yemeni rebels had fired into the oil kingdom. It was intercepted by two Patriot missiles – another first in the Saudi involvement in the Yemeni conflict. Hamed al-Bukhaiti, a Houthi spokesman, indicated that the group had embarked on an escalation along the Saudi border. Riyadh reported Friday that four Saudi troops, including an officer, were killed after an attack was launched from the Yemeni side on border areas in Jizan and Najran.
