Zelensky due in The Hague after Moscow’s charge of Putin assassination bid

Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelensky was due to speak at The Hague on Thursday as part of an unexpected visit to the Netherlands, after denying  Kremlin charges of sending drones over the Kremlin the day before in an attempt to kill President Vladimir Putin. Zelensky will also visit the International Criminal Court which is investigating alleged Russian war crimes in the Ukraine.

Early Thursday, explosions were heard in Kyiv and Odesa. Across the border, a drone hit an oil refinery in southern Russia, setting part of it on fire – the latest in a series of explosions, fires and drone attacks that have occurred in Russia in recent weeks.
