Two rockets fired from the Gaza Strip cut short two election rallies Tuesday night, Sept. 10: Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu was hurriedly evacuated from the hall in Ashdod and opposition candidate Gaby Ashkenazi was pulled out of an event in Ashkelon. There were no casualties, except for a single shock victim. One rocket was intercepted by Iron Dome and the second landed on open ground. Residents of the two southern coastal towns were advised to spend the night in public or private bombs shelters. A short time later, Netanyahu returned to the podium in Ashdod and continued his speech.
The towns and villages bordering on the Gaza Strip were likewise told to be prepared.
