Both US and Syria (plus pro-Iranian allies) are massing strength in the south and east for military clashes in the continuing confrontation.
Assad’s army with Hizballah and other pro-Iranian forces backed by Russia are massing for two objectives: a major offensive to capture Daraa on Syria’s southern border with Jordan; and at the Deir ez-Zour region in the east for another attempt to cross the Euphrates from west to east. US forces and allies are building up to ward off the two offensives. This time, Syria has positioned its Russian anti-air weapons for targeting incoming air strikes by US as well as Israeli air force planes. Syrian Foreign Minister Fayssal Mikdad articulated this threat when he said Wednesday, Feb. 14: “Syria will down any warplane that launches an airstrike on the SAA [Syrian Arab Army].”
US military officials are cited by DEBKAfile’s military sources as estimating on Thursday that the combined Russian, Syrian, Iranian and Hizballah army massing on the western bank of the Euphrates in the Deir ez-Zour region will make another attempt to transfer troops to the eastern bank. They are expected to go for one of the oil or gas fields held by the US-backed SDF (Syria Democratic Forces), which is composed mainly of Kurdish YPG militiamen. Their particular targets are the CONICO gas facility and the al-Omar oil fields.

The Russians can certainly provide the Syrian army with enough hardware to lock up its airspace against Israeli strikes. Once the Syrians are capable of warding off IAF then their coalition will kick the Russian infidels out of Syria. Putin needs Israel to keep the Muslims in check and Putin’s employer (Russian energy industry) needs IRG to force Israel to sell its undersea gas fields to Rosneft i.e.he wants no Israeli competition in the European energy market.

the main problem facing Israel in Lebanon, Syria, and Iran are the extensive networks of deep tunnels which contain missiles, missile parts, missile factories, troops, underground hospitals, armored vehicles, and even drone factories and troop reserves. Hezbollah and Iran are taking the philosophy and methods of the Viet Cong and NVA and preparing extensive tunnel systems with air filtration systems. These tunnel systems are immune to bombing and the soldiers, missiles, and drones within the tunnels can pop up anywhere. Iran has taken this approach to the nth degree and has buried its nuclear processing equipment, its missiles, and missile factories in deep tunnel systems where they can’t be hit by overhead bombing. Even nuclear weapons would only have limited effects against extensive underground facilities. If Israel has access to the US’s “Earthquake Weapon” or if Israel has its own earthquake generating weapons, it is time to move on to next generation technology, of generating small localized earthquakes, or infiltrating tunnel systems with thousands of micro-bot drones (probably not available yet), or mllions of insects or ants (for example bullet ants) with stings that would render tunnel locations unuseable. It is really time to go to technologies several generations in the future (or several generations in the past, such as infestation with ants). It is not worth risking pilots or troops to attack tunnel sites, although smart robots with bombs can enter them and blow them up at key locations that would collapse the tunnels.

DARPA is working extensively on micro-bots that can be networked by the thousand or the million. Such tiny bots – each, for example, armed with a stinger and enough poison to kill one or more targets – could form teams of dozens, hundreds, or thousands, and could respond to programming to go after a certain person – Nasrallah for example. Or a program could tell the bots to go after everyone within 10 meters of Nasrallah. Or a really smart program combined with an audio bot (or programmed insect) could go after everyone listening to one of Nasrallah’s speeches in the various big open spaces where Hezbollah listens to his broadcasts. No bombs necessary. Bots could be programmed to listen for Nasrallah’s voice and then attack everyone in the vicinity. This future is already here and DARPA has been keeping it under wraps. DARPA does not share with Israel so I hope that the Technion has some of its scientists pursuing this. Tiny bots (or trained insects which they resemble) will be able to pursue targets by their smell or their DNA. Or their proximity to someone with certain DNA. Whomever develops these technologies first is going to have a huge advantage. A bot doesn’t have to be lethal, it only needs to spread around common cold germs or airborne flu particles to slow down or stop an entire army. If bots can be made area specific they would self-destruct or just “fall asleep” when they took care of all the targets within a certain perimeter. They are the smart weapon of the future.Bots could spread confusion by spraying soldiers with LSD mixed with DMSO (a harmless skin penetrating agent). Bots that emulate insects can be made to self – replicate or even to replicate by themselves, with no necessity for mating with another bot. There are already animals that have mutated to have this ability (Look up the marbled crayfish, which can clone itself.) The goal of war is to “capture the means of production intact,” unless you are engaged in a punitive war of some type. A country with a smart bot army that can infiltrate literally anywhere – including the deepest underground shelters, by tagging long like a bedbug on enemy soldier’s uniforms – can totally destroy the morale of an army or for that matter of a nation. Something as simple as an infestation of bedbugs is enough to drive armies and civilians crazy. Remember the plagus that the Lord cast upon Egypt, some of them sound like micro-biological warfare:

Good, shoot down some more imperialist planes if they go rogue inside Syrian airspace. They want to behave like thugs, let them suffer consequences.
