Wide-ranging attack on Iranian targets south of Damascus. Israel air defense fires at anti-air missile from Syria
Loud explosions rocked the coastal and hill towns south of Haifa, including Caesarea, Hadera and Zichron Yacov Tuesday night, Dec. 25. The IDF reported that an Israeli anti-air missile battery went into action against an air defense missile incoming from Syria. There were no casualties
According to reports from Syria and Lebanon, a wide-ranging, prolonged air attack took place against areas south of Damascus. The official SANA news agency cited Arab media as reporting Syrian anti-air fire against “unidentified objects” approaching the capital. According to those sources, the air attack was staged from Lebanese air space and directed missiles against three Iranian and Hizballah weapons stores. The Syrians claimed to have downed several missiles. Some sources reported explosions in Damascus. Other sources later described the location under attack as Qatana outside the capital.
G-D bless Israel.
I’ve read that the S400 can be used to hit ground targets as well as air targets. It would be interesting to know if this capability was available to the older systems.
If it was and if the missile could be instructed how to behave if it did not engage its primary air target instructing it to target a military ground target would make a lot of sense.
With the range and speed of the missiles going after military outposts or other expensive / critical infrastructure would definitely make a noticeable impact in Israel especially as the Syrian launch so many during each raid.
Ten or fifteen supersonic missiles impacting the Israeli bases or other targets should cause a large amount of damage each time. So any modification to permit the missile to target one of several secondary ground targets based on the missiles current location should enable prove very tempting to all.
With the Russian military advisors right there in Syria these upgrades could be made and tested in the field.
Been able to maneuver the missiles they should be able to update the terminal phase of the missile so as to have it follow a non-ballistic profile to complicate any Israeli intercept.
Or they could just launch a bunch of cruise missiles at Israel directly, without an air defense phase. And the reason they don’t follow such idiotic suggestions is because they know Damascus will become a pile of rubble if they do, along with Khmeimim airbase itself if necessary.
We have the creator missle system. Works 24/7 all kinds of weather and is perfect. Will sleep just
fine.
Loved that! Damascus is in flames an the enemy faces us with its curses…
Keep up the good work ISRAEL, You have along way to go.But dont worry GOD IS WATCHING YOUR BACK.
Thank you mr Netanyahu just bomb three legs bases everywhere even inside Iran.
It seems Russian is staying out of the way. Why? Even Putin is tired of Iran and wants them out of Syria.
russia was only interested in ca$hing in that surplus s-300 system. they had to get past israeli objections, the un’s embargo on arms sales to iran, and american financial sanctions.
the russian crews were only there temporarily, until the “syrians” could be trained on the s-300. (there’s a separate russian s-400 system protecting hmeimim airbase.)
now that the cheque’s cleared, putin doesn’t have any skin in the game.

Good and uplifting news but not enough. You either destroy Damascus or Tehran but slap on the wrist is not enough. Your enemy does not care of its casualty. They don’t care about their own people. They only care about themselves. So either hit them very hard with a humiliating result or kill the figurehead; that’s the language they understand and respect.
7 hits out of 55 missiles is a poor showing, unless you’ve killed Soleimani. If you didn’t get him, you now have Turkey gunning for all the Kurds and they have entered Syria in force, and greater Israel dies with them.
So Debka, as the mossad’s mouthpiece, just between us, did you get Soleimani or not?
@Jeffrey Spinner
If they were targeting Qasem Soleimani then they are fools and that will trigger a response possibly even from Putin. Which will then result in much Zionist wailing and gnashing of teeth when the body bags start turning up to pay for their idiocy.
Out of curiosity which website did you spot the “7 hits out of 55 missiles”. I ask as i’ve not seen any real details yet.
Is it really? If so, then the Mossad needs to reinvent its strategies. I come here for good information, but I’ve had to stop viewing the assessments as accurate. In the 2014 Gaza conflict, how did Israeli intelligence overlook tunnels as a threat? As an American lobbyist, I’m supposed to assume Israel is prepared, but then I see videos of Hamas operatives exiting tunnels and shooting Israelis in the back. Then I read that Hamas is blown back for decades, and then 4 years later they’re starting fires in Israel and firing into Israel their most advanced missiles yet. Russia deploying advanced air defense systems wasn’t a surprise — the Russian reaction was predictable months ahead. I’m very pro-Israel, but there’s less weight placed on Israeli intelligence when it comes to how I lobby to help Israel’s interests.
the “russian response” was crated and waiting to ship, 6 months before the alleged “incident”. and remember, it was a syrian gunner who shot down the russian il-20, without verifying its identity. why would you want to give someone who uses their existing gun irresponsibly, an even bigger gun? (the s-300 is no more able to identify russian planes than the s-200, by the way.)
the whole thing was a set-up, to overcome israeli objections, and sell a surplus system (left over from upgrading a russian unit) to the iranians, while avoiding american sanctions. it had to be delivered, for instance, before november 1, even though the syrians hadn’t been trained on it, to beat the newest round of american sanctions.
the cover story that it was in response to the israeli raid, and that it was a gift to syria, didn’t have a single word of truth in it. not even one.
Well thats 55 missiles the muslims can not replace quick enough before Israel sends another 62 missiles lol
it’s not what the russians know, it’s what the idf has been waiting for.
there was no point starting a fight with russia, but their aa crews were manning the “syrian” s-300 system, until the “syrians” could be trained on it, approximately 90 days.
time’s up, the russians went home today, and the idf lost no time getting “caught up” on the latest presents from the mullahcracy to hezbollah.
as elmer fudd would say: “wabbit season is now officially open.”
It seems there was give and take agreement between US and Russia. why are they pulling their personnel out before S-300 starts its work. More bombing could be on the way against Iranian targets.
Wars and rumors of wars.
The short story is , leave Israel alone. Stop poking יהוה in the eye.
Bless Israel, Jacob, then יהוה will bless you.

Israel is quick to bomb Syria because Syrians are weak. Hezbollah has dug tunnels deep inside Israel but the IDF can’t dare start a war with them, lest they face humiliating defeat like the 2006 war. Israel is overrated.
Are s300 usable when it’s raining ?
Is the s300 barrel usable when it contains water ?
The US and Israel know where every S300 is at any time.
