After 10 years, terrorist killer of two Israel soldiers captured
The book was closed on a 10 year terrorist murder when Israel laid hands on Abdallah Daghmeh, 38, who with two accomplices killed Maj Eliraz Peretz and Staff Sgt Ilan Svieatkovsky on the Gaza border in March 2010. He was caught last month, the Shen Bet reported, when he entered Israel to donate bone marrow to his brother in an Israeli hospital. He was allowed to conduct the medical procedure under arrest. On Sunday, the Palestinian was indicted the Beersheba District Court on charges of murder as well as operating and belonging to a terrorist organization.
The three men undertook their operation for the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, a branch of the Palestinian Fatah, in which Daghmeh served as a commander. But when they were failed to obtain a functioning bomb for planting on the border route against an Israeli military patrol, they turned to the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror group, which gave them the bomb, guns and back-up.
PM Binyamin Netanyahu commented that the capture is a lesson to all those who to harm us that we will never relent until we settle the score.”
Maj. Eliraz Peretz’s mother Miriam Peretz, who lost a second son, Uriel Peretz, in Lebanon, was awarded the 2018 Israel Prize for her life’s contribution to society and dedicated work for inspiring young people.
