An Iranian cargo ship due in Yemen during ceasefire
In a move in defiance of the Saudi blockade of Yemen, an Iranian cargo ship was due to set sail Sunday night for the Yemeni port of Hodeida, hours after Iran-backed Houthi rebels accepted a Saudi-proposed five-day humanitarian ceasefire starting Tuesday. Iran’s Tasnim news agency reports the ship would carry 2,500 tonnes of humanitarian aid including food staples and medicines. The Saudis have accused Iran of trying to smuggle weapons and ammunition to the Houthis and imposed a sea and air blockade on Yemen.
