Austria votes for a 31-year old conservative chancellor

Austria’s conservative People’s Party (ÖVP), led by 31-year-old Sebastian Kurz, is set to win the country’s general election, projections suggest. His People’s party stands at 31.5 percent of Sunday’s vote, followed by the Social Democrats with 27.1 percent and the far right Freedom Party with 25.9 percent. Short of a majority, Kurz must form a coalition government and expected to choose the Freedom Party which campaigned on an anti-immigration platform.
