Blaze in West Jerusalem begins to come under control
A big fire engulfed wooded parts of western Jerusalem, setting some homes on fire on Bloomfield St, which were cleared earlier. Around 50 fire brigade crews and six planes battled flames threatening Ain Karem, Kiryat Yovel, and streets near Mt. Herzl and Yad Vashem. Police evacuated the Yad Vashem staff and hundreds of homes in Kiryat Yovel. Three people suffered from smoke inhalation, including a fireman. Hadassah hospital in Ain Karem was set to evacuate patients. Power cut off in evacuated streets has been restored. Suspected arson is under iinvestigation.
