Cairo sources: ElBaradei in line for provisional PM

Dr. Mohamed ElBaradi, one of the opposition leaders, is in line for provisional prime minister of Egypt until new elections, according to sources in Cairo. They say he is an accepted figure in opposition and Muslim circles alike. DEBKAfile: Dr. ElBaradei was Director of the UN Atomic Energy Agency for 10 years. As such, he made no secret of his anti-Israel views and was renowned for obstructing thorough inspections of Iran’s nuclear activities, maintaining there was no proof of its military dimension. ElBaradei is also considered anti-American in his orientation.
