China even-handed in condemning of Ukraine violence
China Monday called for dialogue to resolve the fractious situation in Ukraine, though it didn't criticize Russia outright for sending troops into Ukrainian territory. The foreign ministry spokesman Qin Gang said "China condemned recent acts of extreme violence in Ukraine" but didn't identify perpetrators. "China always sticks to the principle of noninterference in any country's internal affair," he said, adding at the same time that “there were reasons for today's situation in Ukraine."
