Egyptian Brotherhood leader, 682 others, sentenced to death

An Egyptian court recommended the death sentence Monday for the Muslim Brotherhood’s general guide Mohamed Badie and 682 supporters, and handed down a final capital punishment ruling for 37 others. Death sentence recommendation for Badie will be passed on to Egypt's Mufti, the highest religious authority, whose opinion is not legally binding and can be ignored by the court.
