French security forces thwart terrorist attack against naval base
A 25-year-old French Muslim, who was under surveillance by the French authorities for more than a year, was arrested in late October on suspicion of planning an attack on the southern naval base in Toulon. He was put under surveillance after posting messages on social media in which he expressed support for ISIS and declared that he wanted to travel to Syria to fight alongside the terrorist organization. The details were released in a special announcement on Wednesday by French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuv.
