Hizballah says an Israeli “spying device” spotted on Mt. Barouk
Hizballah claimed Sunday to have spotted an Israeli surveillance device on Jabal Barouk opposite Lake Qaraouin in Lebanon, but it was blown up by an Israeli air strike before the party sent out to bring it in arrived. The Shiite group did not indicate when the incident occurred. DEBKAfile: Jabal Barouk is a mountain around 6,000ft tall, which commands a large part of central and southern Lebanon, where Hizballah maintains its strongholds, as well as northern Israel. Both Hizballah and Iran have in the past posted listening and intelligence-gathering stations on this mountaintop.
