India confirms: ISIS nabbed and murdered 39 nationals in Mosul

Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj confirmed Tuesday to the Upper House in New Delhi that the 39 Indian constructions workers kidnapped by ISIS in Mosul in 2014 were dead. The Indian government had long maintained they were alive. Bodies found in a mass grave matched 38 of the missing Indians’ DNA. Thirty-one of the victims were from the northern state of Punjab, the others from Himachal Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal.
