Iran claims to have foiled major bomb attack plot

Iran's state-run TV reported on Monday that several people have been arrested on suspicion of planning to carry out a major bombing assault on Tehran and other cities. Ammunition and bombs were also seized, according to the information attributed to the country's Intelligence Ministry. Ali Shamkhani, secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, was quoted by the Fars news agency as saying the attacks were scheduled for Ramadan.
