Iran suing US at International Court of Justice over asset seizure: Rouhani
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said Wednesday in Tehran that his country has filed a lawsuit against the US at the International Court of Justice in the Hague over the diversion of $2 billion worth of frozen Iranian assets to American victims of terror. Rouhani called American court rulings regarding the assets "illegal" and claimed that his country has no connection whatsoever to terrorist attacks in Lebanon blamed on Iran that have served as the basis for the rulings, and that Iranian families were victims of the attacks as well. Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Zarif previously claimed the asset seizure constituted "highway robbery".
