ISIS advances near Homs, tightens siege on Aleppo

Forces of ISIS and the Al-Nusra Front continued their advance in the area of Homs and Aleppo on Sunday by capturing the town of Maheen, located southwest of Homs, strengthening their hold on the main routes linking Aleppo to Latakia and Damascus, including Highway No. 5. The latest victories by the two terrorist groups came despite heavy bombing by the Russian air force intended to slow their recent advances in the Syrian civil war.
