ISIS names brother of Al Baghdadi its new leader
ISIS has named Abu al-Hassan al-Hashemi al-Quraishi (real name Juma Awad al-Badri) as successor to Abu Ibrahim al-Quraishi, who killed himself and family during a US raid on their Syrian hideout last month. The new leader is said by Iraqi security officials and a Western security source to be an elder brother of ISIS founder Abu Bakr al Baghdadi, who like his successor blew himself up during a US raid. Badri is described as having joined salafi jihadist groups in 2003 and acted as personal companion and Islamic legal adviser to his brother.
